Workshop Info

Every Sunday in October from 2-4pm at the East End Studio Art Gallery, we will host a two hour workshop based on the theme “What Thrills You.”

The first hour will be spent reading, free writing and discussing. The second hour will be hosted by one of our guest facilitators focused on a genre of their expertise.  We encourage all writers to write in a “genre” that feels comfortable for them and to attend all workshops because there is always something you can learn!

10/02//Flash Fiction: Like a snapshot, happens quickly. Usually stories/prose pieces that are less than 800-1000 words in length.
10/09//Poetry: You know, the stuff with meter, rhyme, repetition, verse (free or otherwise), imagery…
10/16//Playwriting: You ever seen a play? Characters talking to each other, moving on a stage…that.
10/23//Fiction: Writing you make up, not true stories/prose, characters, setting, plot all that jazz

The last Sunday 10/30 we will spend 1 hr with a discussion and workshop on publishing and submission opportunities and then we will spend 1 hr at Bohemeo’s having a Submissions Party where you will be encouraged to submit something to a journal or mag!
